About Us

about us

Founded in 1999, Cincott Farms was born out of a passion for growing our own food and the belief that eating healthy is important to one’s well-being. Selling our Certified Organic produce at Farmer's Markets in the early days, we made the transition to serving the wider public with the addition of our on farm store, greenhouses and the development of our three acres of harvestable fields. Growing on this foundation, and also being two chefs, we were approached in 2003 with an opportunity that to us, seemed too good to pass up. So with some careful planning, we opened our first restaurant in Fernie, which was Cincott Organic Market & Cafe. After 9 years at this location, we were again presented with another opportunity to expand our business, so in the fall of 2012, we opened our second restaurant, which was the

Fernie Cattle Company.

These two restaurants is where our tag line

"From Field to Fork" was born, as 99% of the heirloom produce we grew, went directly from our farm, to your plate.

Now, after selling the

Fernie Cattle Company in the spring of 2025,

and enjoying the last 22+ successful years in the industry,

we are solely back on the farm.

While all this was happening, in late 2011, we made the tough decision to drop our organic certification. However, this choice was made with a clear conscious knowing that we still wished to carry on our operations growing in the same manner in which we always had, which is using no chemicals, no pesticides, no fertilizers, and only using sustainable farming methods. We accomplished that, going on fourteen years now and counting. So presently, going into 2026, although we are no longer in the restaurant industry, and are long since past being certified organic, our main focus continues to be, to grow and provide our customers with "all natural heirloom seedlings and produce, that while looked at as imperfect by mainstream consumer standards, fully exceeds our expectations for quality and what we have always believed in, which is superior taste and flavor.

We are now bringing these same principles to our small batch canning and preserves.

Members also enjoy the rewards of our U-Pick option, when available. For example, if we pick carrots for you, you receive the standard amount in your box. But if you pick your own, you get extra for the same price! Plus, you have the pleasure of spending time outdoors at our farm!

Boxes will be available for pickup every Sunday and Monday between 2-6pm

All the crops grown on our farm are GMO free and tended to naturally, which means free of chemicals, pesticides, and herbicides. As always, we continue to make our own compost here at the farm, striving not only to be sustainable in our farming practices but regenerative, as well. Additionally, we save our own seed, which is available on our store site, as well as grow out only organic seed from various seed companies throughout Canada and the United States, all recognizable heirloom varieties.

As we look back at the last 26 years of growing here at Cincott Farms, our goal has  remained the same: to share our passion for healthy food and improve the land we live on, leaving it better for future generations.

*Note: Payment is non-refundable in the event of a natural catastrophe resulting in crop loss.
